After graduating with a Business degree from University of Moncton, NB, Robert spends several years developing his business acumen through different business ventures, while never losing sight of his true passion: farming. In 1976, he seizes the opportunity of making a move by purchasing a mixed farm, where he produces potatoes and seed grains.
Robert decides to focus exclusively on seed grain production. As a result, he quickly expands the seed grain storage installations, acquires more farm land and improves its production capacities.
A cleaning and treating facility is built to improve quality and allow for larger seed preparations capacities. New grain storage facilities and farm equipment are acquired to meet the increased demand and production for quality seeds.
More land is purchased to allow better rotation while continuing to exchange acreage with potato growers.
The arrival of Eric Thériault, Robert’s son, to the farming operation leads to the incorporation of Eastern Grains.
Eastern Grains builds more storage facilities, acquires more farm land and increases its production capacities. The addition of a new feed grain facility (drying, cleaning, storing, scaling) enables the company to become more efficient at producing high-quality products that meet the ever-changing needs of today’s customers.
ETRT Production Inc. is created to manage the grain and oilseed farming operations. Meanwhile, Eastern Grains (2016) Inc. continues to offer the same quality products and services as before, while focusing on the marketing aspect of grains and oilseeds including seed and feed (human and animal consumption).
And here we are today, optimistically looking at the future with our revamped website, our conscious marketing approach and our newly-found embrace of social media.

Eastern Grains Inc. has been involved in marketing feed grains and oilseeds for several years. Barley, oat, wheat, rye, soybeans, peas and corn for animal feed, but our major market is oats for human consumption.
With the addition of a new storing, drying and cleaning facility we now have access to a growing diversified market which will bring more possibilities for growers of eastern Canada and Maine.
New possibilities on the human and industrial use are now open to growers. Milling oat, milling wheat, IP conventional soybean, malting barley and canola for industrial use are a few examples.
